Winton House is the Masonic
Centre for Freemasonry in Morpeth, and was at one time
the town house of the Davison family whose suffragette daughter Emily Wilding
(Davison) was fatally injured when she attempted to attach the women's
movement colours to the King’s horse during the Derby Day race in1913; Emily
is buried in Saint Mary’s Churchyard here in Morpeth.
